"Tonight I had a conversation with my daughter. I said 'Well, the first thing we have to do is make sure we love the Lord and are putting Him first. Getting our priorities straight.'
Then she said, 'Dad that's where I have a problem. I don't know if I want to serve a God who tortures people in hell for eternity. Couldn't He just think of a better way to solve the problems?'
It stabbed me to the core when she said that. I wanted to say 'Well, amazingly I just saw a guy online who says there is no hell, and he has proof.'
But the other part of me said 'If you tell her that, and there really IS a hell, and she dies and goes there, YOU, (name), will have her blood on your hands for deceiving her!!'
So I silently and stoically bore the pain in my heart and didn't say a word.
But it's for reasons like that (And for ALL my loved ones) that I am so DETERMINED to get to the bottom of it, and it's for reasons like that that I seek God's face with all my strength every day. I simply MUST know the truth. It has become imperative with me.
Oh! I didn't tell you that your article on tithing helped settle an issue for me that I have been searching for answers for a long time. I have swung back and forth on the issue of tithing for a a long time, and wore my finger out on the Google button looking at both sides of the issue battling in my mind which side was right. I had also been tithing, and had done so many times in my life, but never saw the promised results..."
